Hello!

My 256GB nvme is almost full. System runs just fine but I dont really have alot on here so I ran space sniffer and found out that staterepository-deployment.srd-wal in the apprepository folder is 118GB and is using the most space on my drive. Is there anyway to fix this?

Thanks.

it seems to be part of windows store, have you got any games from there?

this isn't exact problem but solution is close to what I would have suggested - https://superuser.com/questions/116...ce-terminated-with-the-following-error-the-sy
only try solution 1. We see if we can find another answer before we try 3.

Thanks for the reply! No I dont have any games are any apps at all aside from what comes pre loaded with windows. I will try that solution and post if it worked.

could also be drivers.

Trying to figure out what the State Repository is. Seems to relate to component store which is used to run windows.

Here are some examples of how the Windows Component Store files are used:
  • Using Windows Update to install new component versions. This keeps systems secure and up-to-date.
  • Enabling or disabling Windows features.
  • Adding roles or features using Server Manager.
  • Moving systems between different Windows Editions.
  • System recovery from corruption or boot failures
  • Uninstalling problematic updates
  • Running programs using side-by-side assemblies

so the 1st fix might well help.
Not 100% sure what it does for the store.

other results for State repository say its for Taking snapshots on Edge
State repository service, a browser-based service, helps you capture and store snapshots of browsing sessions on the web browser. It means that it can record your browsing information including browsing history, the last page displayed in the browser, the state of script and document objects, information entered in the form on the last viewed page and cookies.

So without actually finding anything from Microsoft saying it does this, I am on the fence as to which

I can tell I don't have same thing, my biggest files are VM's. the purple blocks.

Hmm, Ill keep an eye on it and see if it bloats up again. If it does ill run diagnostics on my system and I can do a format. Not sure why it got so bloated in the first place as this system is mainly used for web browsing. I appreciate the help.

Win 11 22H2 should be out soon so it might fix any oddities windows is doing. Depends when you got 11, I have had it since July last year and my PC probably needs a new version. Windows update broke for me a few weeks ago and I had to do a repair install.
