Hello!

I have a DT 770 PRO (80 ohm) that produces this annoying constant buzz/static noise whenever I plug it into the front or back 3.5 mm jack. I know that there is nothing wrong with the headphones themselves since when I plug them in to the monitors jack, they work perfectly.

I've tried to reinstall my Realtek drivers to no avail, tried to wriggle the audio cable in the PC also to no avail. I genuinely don't know what produces this problem.

I've attached some pics.

This is a symptom that will commonly appear if there is a bad ground connection. Since the headphones are determined to be ok, I would assume that there is a high resistance from the ground wire on the jack(s) to actual ground. One would need an ohm meter to check this. I would expect it to read ~0 ohms to chassis ground. Another way would be to use a clip lead from the ground pin on the jack to chassis ground. If this is the problem, the noise should disappear when the clip lead is in place.
