[SOLVED] Static damaged ram?

I have an alienware m15 r1 i7 8750h rtx 2060 2x8gb ram It recently started overheating so i decided to open it up and clean it a bit, nothing major just used a dry cloth to gently clean the dust , didn't even open anything/ touch the ram modules. After that, the laptop was stuck in a boot loop Showed a windows logo and then resets immediately. So i removed one of the ram sticks that came with the factory and viola laptop starts working again, I've tried switching slots with both memory modules and it looks like everytime i put the bad memory stick inside the laptop, it refuses to boot. The bios detects both the ram modules with correct memory and speed. But i cant complete dell diagnostics when the bad memory stick is in the laptop(gets stuck at testing memory). Please I need help with this

Have you tried just the suspect module by itself? Have you tried swapping the modules?

Yes I have, I am sure that the problem is with that ram stick.

Bummer. Yep, then it looks like potential esd damage, especially if the known good module still works in that socket.

Yep, wether you shocked it during the cleaning or it just happend by concidence, it sounds like that RAM stick died. You'll have to get a new one.
