Recently put together a new rig. Using an Asus Z170-A motherboard with a Logitech H150 headset. When listening to any music , watching vids or playing games the sound is excellent! but when I use the mic from my headset regardless if its front port or back port it gives off some static/whitenoise which the other person can hear this happens only if mic boost is on. got the latest drivers etc. the only thing that i haven't replaced on this pc is the power supply(which is about 6 years old and not a known brand at all) ,hdds and the case which still uses Ac audio 97. . im just abit worried if motherboard is faulty?? Could it be my power supply as well? when i used my old pc with these old parts the headset worked perfectly in terms of the mic. are there any solutions? 🙁

PS when there are no devices connected, the static does show up on team speaks capture sound test. This becomes a problem when i use Skype and it uses automatic mic settings which uses mic boost thus creating alot of static/interference.

I have used this headset on my laptop and its crystal clear.
I would like to clear this up so I can decide if I must return the board.

Any help/ opinions?

Realtek has a feature for this.
Go to Sound>Recording Devices> Right click your microphone > Properties>Enhancements> tick noise suppression and accoustic echo cancellation

will slightly reduce microphone quality, but well worth the trade off
