So i build my PC some time ago and everything worked very well for about 2 months. Now when i start a demanding game like Witcher 3 there comes this really weird sound i guess from the graphic card? It sounds like some kind of buzzing static/electric kind of sound kind of hard to describe but i does kind of sound like the coil whine i saw in some Youtube videos. Its kind of strange for me that this sound was not there from the beginning i started to buzz this morning... I tried to reassemble my PC but the sound is still there (maybe its on different pitch now i cant tell).

My components:
MSI Z270 Gaming M3
MSI Gaming Z Geforce GTX 1070
Intel i5-7600k
Seasonic 550w G series modular psu
Gskill 2x8 gb ram

This Problem occurred after many days of use and thats why i am not sure if its this coil whining. I also checked all my fans at full speed and they dont cause any weird sound. My CPU and GPU do not overheat.

Can someone give some informations on this topic? What could it be? How can i be sure which part causes this?

it does sound like coil wine. if you are using a 60hz monitor, try using a program to limit the frames per second to 60 maximum and see if it helps. then you'll know for sure its coil wine. only thing you can do is keep frames limited or contact the manufacturer for an rma. some will cover it, some wont.

rivatuner rtss will do it

I got a 144hz monitor. Anyway i was asking myself how to can i be sure if its the graphic card? I checked and good thing is MSI does if you have coil whine. And is it possible that i can occur after some time while working normally?

yes it can come about later on.

coil wine is almost always heightened caused by high framerate output. limiting your frames should quiet it and be a dead giveaway that that is the issue. still do the test. you can set it to 60, then 30, then no limit. see if the sound changes.

Yes indeed you are right. When i limit the frames to 30 the frequency seems to drop and on 60 frames it gets higher pitched more annoying. Guess im gonna replace my GCard. Can this coil whine happen to any GCard? Or does this come from faulty cards or/and bad manufacture?

it doesnt mean the card is faulty. you could go through 10 cards and still get coil wine. it could be the graphics card, the psu not outputting clean power, the outlet you have it plugged into, a usb device causing interference, it can even sometimes be heard through your speakers and not even from on the card. You may get another card and find it is even louder. if its not too annoying, id deal with it. if its actually bothering you, try a different outlet in your house if you have one. perhaps disconnect all your external devices except kb/mouse.

after switching the power outlet i find this sound not as loud as before still i do notice it. What could this be? it makes me pretty angry after spending lots of time and money on building this thing i get a problem like that anyway ill do my best to get rid of it.

First of all i guess im going to return the GC as this is the only solution where im not paying anything more. I thought my PSU wouldnt be that bad but sure you can show me your recommendation.
