Every time I start to play games like Battlefield 4 or Batman Arkham Origins I can hear a annoing static noise. The nois is not present if I play games like League of Legends. Oddly though, when I tried my old USB headphones the noise was gone. So I tried to buy a usb soundcard but it had a odd problem. If I plugged in my headphones it was fine, but as soon as I plugged in my mic a other static noise started. I have updated all my audio drivers and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Oh, and I have a new Asus GTX 970, i5 4670k and 8gb RAM

I have done that many times and it have not worked 🙁

Even if I mute everything in my mixer the noise is still present.

By listening to make case I could hear a similar noise. The sound could be coming from the psu but im not sure.

Its just odd that it is not present while using usb headphones.

IS the noise from the SPEAKER or from an electronic component? Coil whine comes directly from the component, it does not come out the speaker. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7HsXHqtxrI

This does not sound like coil whine ".. If I plugged in my headphones it was fine, but as soon as I plugged in my mic a other static noise started. ..."

The noise seems to come out of my pc and my headphones. The other noise when I plug in my mic is only present while using my usb soundcard.

Hey I know I'm late to answer this question but..

I had this same problem and like you when used headphones the noise got "better".

The thing causing the noise in my computer was actually a dust bunny that was lodged under my mother board. I removed the dust and the noise went away. This was two years ago and the noise has never returned. Hope that helps someone out there.

Note: I realise i'm commenting on an old post.

I experienced this problem on my earphones plugged into the front headphone jack while playing games.

Moving the soundcard to the furthest PCI slot away from the graphics card fixed the issue. Maybe this will help a user in the future where everything else has not worked.
