Question Static or cracking sound

Recently when I play a video I get a static or cracking sound. I don't know what it could be. I get this sound through different audio outputs including: usb headphones and hdmi display.

I am guessing its a motherboard or driver issue but not sure.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking. I will try to replace my motherboard and see if it stops.

If you have Corseair headphones that use the iCUE software, downgrade to version 3.14.104. Seems they release crackling audio effefcts in other versions. This version has been stable and crackle free.

The sound crackles regardless of the input. I tried using multiple different headphones and display monitors.

My PC suddenly became very laggy, this has not happened before. The mouse is moving around very slowly and I have only got chrome open. Task manager is showing my RX Vega 54 running at 40-60% without anything being open.

Now my pc is acting fine, I haven't changed anything. What could be wrong? I don't want to replace parts I don't need.

Edit: Getting crackling sound again.
