I’m in a dilemma, I’ve just upgraded my gpu to GTX 1070, but I noticed a bit of bottlenecking but not that frequent while playing with ultra setting (Star Wars Battlefront II, Shadow of War, etc..), the fps of course I’m not that satisifed so I’m planning to upgrade to i7 4790 because I don’t want to upgrade to higher gen because that would compromise my ram (HyperX Savage 16GB 1600MHz) I don’t want to upgrade to DDR4 because that would be costly, but upgrading just the mobo for the CPU won’t be an issue. Even so, I want some conformations wether the upgrade to 4790 would solve my bottlenecking issue or it will be the same as my current CPU? I hope the community would be so kind to help me solve this one.

Thank You All..

My specs:-

i7 3770 3.4Ghz
Gigabyte GA-Z77P-D3
Asus GTX 1070 Dual OC
HyperX Savage 16GB 1600MHz
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
Seagate 1TB SSHD
Aerocool Strike-X Power 600W

I would not make the upgrade either. There is only about 5 - 10% difference in performance. The bottleneck is not as big as you think either. But if you really want to remove the bottleneck, then go get a 1440p monitor. When you move to higher resolution, the bottleneck moves from the CPU to the GPU.
You have a unlocked Mobo, A i7 3770k Might be a option.

But, I would wait. There is not that much improvement either way and you would be better off getting a New CPU, Like ryzen+ or 9th gen (In a couple of month)
