Stay with Ryzen or upgrade to Intel

Hello, I currently have a Ryzen 1600 and am currently upgrading. I was wondering if I should get the 2700 or should I switch sockets and get the 8700k. This is pretty much only gaming with some autocad work. Also I plan on doing vr. I know that intel is better but is it worth the 20 FPS gain and money of switching mother boards? Thanks in advance

what GPU you have.. that would be more of a gain to switch that then the CPU and motherboard..

thats tough but if everything is working good right now youd be much better off just getting an r7 2700x or non x. for the vast majority of tasks, most gaming included, most people woudn't notice the performance differences between a 2700x and an 8700k.
