Question Steady amber light on motherboard won't power up

So I'm new to pc building and recently brought both an ROG STRIX B250F gaming motherboard and a Corsair carbide spec-delta RGB case. I've connected everything as stated all my fans are in, the power cable and all the front I/o headers are in according to the manual. The only issue with it I can think of is that the case doesn't have a hd led cable but don't see how that should make a difference. Anyway, I plug in my power cable and turn it on and the RGB lights from the motherboard turn on and so does an amber light just above the front I/o headers. When I press the on switch on the case nothing happens.
Any idea what I've done?

Components:
ROG STRIX B250F gaming motherboard
Corsair Carbide Spec-delta RGB case
Intel i5-7400k
Corsair Vengeance 16gb RAM

Which slots have you populated the ram in? You also need to include your specs like so:

For the time being, work without the fans...only the core components.

Ram is in the far right and then middle slot not sure how else to describe it.
Specs:
CPU- intel i5 7400k
Motherboard - ROG STRIX B250f gaming motherboard
Ram - 16gb Corsair vengeance lpx
HDD - Seagate 1tb
GPU - Gigabyte GTX 1050
PSU - Corsair vs650
Chassis - Corsair carbide spec delta rbg
Os - none, first time using components

The orange led light indicates you have power to the motherboard.
That is normal.

A omitted HDD led cable is no issue at all, but I am surprised that a modern case like yours does not have one.

Motherboard front panel connectors can be confusing.
Your motherboard manual will have the location and layout.
Orient yourself by looking for an empty pin in one corner.
Possibly your case power switch is defective or not connected properly.
Test starting your motherboard by momentarily touching a flat blade screwdriver to the two PWR pins on the
front panel header.
