All I want to say is Thank you Steam and sorry to my Wallet. While some people may disagree with Steam I see it as a savior to PC gaming and I am grateful for that. They created a good system where indie devs can put their creations out there. Some of the best ideas can come from the little guys and I have seen many good games come to greenlight that I would have never of known about. Also to sweeten the deal they honestly have good sales. Cheers to another holiday Steam sale!!!

Thank you Steam/Valve

Steam is THE Client that actually cares about PC gamers: it is kind to our wallets, it supports indie devs through greenlight, it conveniently manages patches and it is a stable and trustworthy platform. Which is why I hate it so much when a game I like makes me use another program like Origin or heavens forbid Games for Windows Live....
It would be truly perfect if steam got rid of allowing publishers to charge significantly higher based on region though.. Regardless i am looking forward to the Sales!

ARrggg...i just spent $200 on my girlfriend for her birthday and now I am broke 🙁. If I knew I would have taken her to denny's instead.

so glad i have 12 months interest free on my credit card....HSBC be warned you may need to upgrade you system to handle the amount of transactions i will be making!

Remember the days when you could grab yourself an old copy of a game for £1 or maybe a bit more AND still install t hem on your computer six years later even IF the company went under? Steam... you say value I say 'locked cage'.

P.s. I have over 70+ games in Steam but STILL see that I truly don't 'own' anything.

Then buy them in a shop?

Order them from ebay for cheap?

People will truly whine about everything, including free choice.

Yeah, but that might have been the difference between good sex and porno sex. Hope you got the latter.

I have HSBC through Best Buy, but never plan to use them again as a credit source. Sorry, just had to chime in to warn you and others about HSBC. I was sending in my payments regularly, but it seems that it takes them 1 week to process before it showed up in my banking statement. With others, it usually takes only 1-2 days to process. I had a payment that I sent in 1 week before it was due, then it was processed the day after it was due so there was a late payment and interest charged. I called to ask if I mailed it in 1 week prior why they didn't use the postage date, they said that only the day it is processed is considered and they don't use the mail in date.

Because I submitted a complaint to the BBB, the next day I received a call from some executive at HSBC that they would be waiving any charges and if I had any future problems call her back. Since then I've paid as soon as I receive the statement and after paying off the credit, never used them since.

Just thought I'd tried warning people who take out credit with HSBC via Best Buy that they need to be careful. Also check out some of the many complaints that others have with HSBC.

Somehow i belive that if steam went down, it would either be sold to another company (wich would have to keep the agrements with the users), or unlock the Steam system so you no longer need steam to run the games.

While steam can "legaly" cut off its clients, a massive public pressure will defeat any law already imposed. This has been true since "Gladiator" 😀.
