Steam Disk Write Error

I'm starting to get pissed by how reluctant this issue is to go away, I got disk write errors trying to update two games so I verified their files and tried again, the issue persisted. I cleaned and defragged the hard drive, cleared the steam library download cache, restarted my PC, uninstalled and reinstalled steam, none of which worked. The only change that has happened is because I uninstalled steam I now have 0 games on my pc and it still won't let me download any. No games can be downloaded without giving the same disk write error and I'm at a loss as to what to do next. Any help would be appreciated, please and thank you.

hurricean, have you tried this solution path? Is your HDD acting up as well and can you at least move files from one drive to the next and install an app that is not a game?

I tried those, the problem is still occurring. I only have one drive so moving files around isn't an option. Steam itself installed correctly, so I'm pretty sure that it's only the games that aren't working.

Steam support is probably a good way to go then if you have not done so yet. Also not a bad idea to test you HDD. You can run SeaTools to rule the HDD being the culprit.
