steam game question

hello good chaps and chappets from the net, I have a question about steam games. My friend owns a game that I'd like to own. could he copy the files to my pc so I could play it on my account?

PS: I don't wan't to use family sharing

No, you will have to buy the game not just copy it from a friend.

Unless your account has ownership of the game - you can copy it but only the steam account it belongs to can play it.
