Hey guys,

My PC has been acting funny the past 2 days and I've tried countless ways to try to fix it.
Whenever I go to play a Steam game (Dirt 2 or Left 4 Dead 2) I've been getting messages that pop up after my game has a graphic glitch and freezes (which then causes my Windows then to have graphical glitches)

My Video card is a PNY GTX580 which has a 750w PSU w/ 66A 12V rails powering it. Everything is working golden but the Steam games. I've tested only one other PC game (Dark Age of Camelot) and it's working perfect.

This is the error report #1:

- Reinstalled Nvidia drivers (both new and old)
- Disabled my over clocking
- Verified GPU temps (33 degrees C when games crashes)
- Verified CPU temps (29 degrees C when game crashes)

Since all of that I did uninstall and reinstall Steam.
I downloaded Bejewled 3 quick and it's working perfect. Hopefully L4D and Dirt 2 will once I reinstall them.

Hey there,

I recommand you to shoot your problem details to the developers and Steam so they can look into that for you, am sure they will be glad to help :

- Dirt 2 > CodeMasters Customer Support > custservice@codemasters.com

- Left 4 Dead 2 > Steam/Valve Customer Support > https://support.steampowered.com/

The issue has been resolved. After continuous effort in trying to identify this issue it boiled down to being the motherboard.
Things I tried to fix:
- Reinstalling Graphics Drivers/Trying old graphics drivers
- Getting rid of the OC on my MoBo
- Updating the BIOS
- Uninstalled my new sound card/removed it (Creative Fatal1ty Pro)
- Reinstalled Windows 7
- Tried a new hard drive
- Reinstalled Steam/L4D2

After countless attempted I just threw my arms in the air and replaced the Motherboard. Was able to score a Gigabyte 970A-UD3 (Previous MoBo was a MSI 870-G45) at a local store in Boston open box for just around $70. Popped it in, installed L4D2 and it works flawless w/o any issues at all.

Thanks for everyones help so far 😀

Glad you got it fixed, but you may have fixed the problem just by reinstalling directx. I have bolded the faulting module above.

That was one thing I did when I completed a clean install of Windows. That error right there went away but the VPhysics.Dll was constantly coming up w/ all games from L4D2, Grid, Dirt 2, Diablo 3, Dark Age of Camelot. It would get to the point where my games would run for 3 seconds, lock for 3 seconds, run for 3 seconds, lock for 3 seconds. After I installed the new mobo I checked all of the heatsinks on the mobo and they were super clean (non crusty thermal paste/whiped clean). I may have put too much strain on my mobo over the past 2 1/2 years running at a constant 20% overclock.
