Steam Games on 2nd HDD, Steam.exe on SSD

I have all my 700gbs of games installed on my 1TB HDD, now out of curiosity, would it be better to keep the games installed on my HDD and keep the EXE on my SSD, or just have them both on one drive?

Putting the steam.exe on your SSD will boot it up faster, make it more responsive and overall better.
It doesnt weight almost anything, either way, so why not.
Games that you play ALL the time, or games that have insanely long loading times should be installed on the SSD - for example BF3 (Origin, I know) is a good example of an SSD game.

It doesn't matter, the Steam.exe is just what runs the other games .exe's.

Yeah thats why I never put it on my HDD, I just kept it on my SSD as when I boot I like it to have it open steam as well. I know when I didnt have a SSD and I would boot my PC and have it open steam it opened so slow, but that was with the OS being on the HDD. Idk if it will do the same with my OS on the SSD and the steam on the HDD. As I dont feel like waiting hours for everything to transfer. I have 140 games. And bf3 installed on it as well.

Imo just keep it on the SSD.
I have Uplay, Steam and Origin on my SSD, and only BF3 right now on the SSD as it's "ONLY" 128GB -OS

Yeah I've never had a problem with it so far, until I do a fresh install of windows which I heard if you do steam wont be able to detect the installed games if their not on the same drive. If you know about that let me know.

steam is on my ssd too, but it always takes a good 5 seconds before im on the desktop to load. not that it's an issue, just strange.

Question, if I were to format my SSD. Would I be able to access my games once I reinstall steam again. The reason I ask is because I'm thinking about upgraded to a 256gb SSD.

If you don't have any games on the SSD you won't have to re-install your games if you format the SSD.
