I was wondering if my computer will run ANY steam games at all? My Dell Inspiron 3000 desktop computer has Integrated Intel HD Graphics built into it. But to my understanding it has no video cards or sound cards and I'm not allowed to put any into it without voiding the warranty. I can't seem to get a straight answer out of anybody anywhere else. And I can't post a question directly to steam because I don't have any wallet money on my account. I just want to play some PC games on my computer but I didn't want to pay over $900 for a gaming computer. I honestly thought I'd be able to play some steam games. But it seems like every single good game requires high powered graphics cards plus video and sound cards cards. By the way, my computer has an i5-4460 processor in it. Can anyone please help me?

Hello ImperfectTears,

My name is Shrikanth and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. You won’t be able to upgrade your system or add a video card to it. You will have to change the motherboard will void the warranty as you said. I would suggest you to first check the minimum requirements of the game and compare it with your system specifications. If it supports then you can play the games.

Thanks and regards

You do not need a sound card to play games, also the most common graphics unit of Steam users is Intel HD Graphics 4000 believe it or not.

Most likely you can not play very good, new games, but what you can do is maybe download an older game on Steam that you like and play it. Steam just introduced a policy of free returns if you play a game for less than 2 hours.

Make sure you do not cross that, try out the game you want and if it runs on your PC play it, if not return it ASAP.
