Thank you for telling me your PC Specs/Stats but you did not need to make a new Thread. so next time just post a reply on this thread.

This is a Laptop correct? When you are playing these games what kind of surface are you playing on? table like surface or a Cloth-like surface, like a bed? Becuase that could be causing it to overheat and it shuts off so it doesn't break from the heat.

When you play games on the laptop do you usually have the charger in? if not i recommend that. Also is the glass table dusty? doesn't have to perfect just not covered in dust. right now all i can think is it's overheating, What games are you trying to play?

try both of these.

1: Right click On any of your games and go to properties and uncheck "Enable ingame community" you won't be able to talk to friends while gaming but this may fix it.

2: Do this after Possible solution 1. This may or may not fix it. Go into your My Computer, Local Disk, Program Files, Steam, And Delete Clientregistry.blob this will make you have to get the updates for steam again but may fix your problem if it's not a overheating problem. (You won't have to update your games again steam will automatically update itself again may take a few minutes though)

I personally haven't had any problems with steam. Are these hard crashes, like bluescreens, or just automatic power off when you start a game type scenarios, or is it halfway into your game your pc fans kick up really high, then everything starts lagging, then shuts off?

n
nyeah, that will work IF it's caused by overheating. . . didn't you just say that it wouldn't turn off if you were *ahem* SOMEHOW using a version of half life that didn't need steam to run? that's not overheating.
