Steam says"1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired"

Hello ppl, I have been having this problem with all my games. When I go verify integrity of game cache on all my games it says that 1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired. I havent installed 1 mod on any game yet. I just did a re install of windows, that could be the problem.Can Someone please help me fix it.

Steam --> Library --> right click the game (??) --> properties --> Local Files -->

1) Try verify the Integrity of the game (will take a bit of time depending on net speed and game size)
2) If the game still doesn't run after verifying the integrity of the game Just press the "Delete Local game Content" and after this complete right click the game and "install game"

Yep I know But i still want him to try that option once more... as he is saying "on all my games it says that 1 file failed to validate"....

I want to try and get one of the game working first if that game still doesn't work when he re-downloads the game i was going to help him reinstall the steam without having to reinstall all the games...

The game is working fine, I just want to know what causes the problem so I can avoid it after I reinstall steam.

I just reinstalled steam and, so far, the 1 game I downloaded passed the test. Lets see if skyrim can..

I am having the same problem, all my games work except for Portal 2, it crashes my computer! Not the game, but computer! I ran the Local Content Verification in Properties, one file was found blah blah blah. But it dosn't fix it, everytime I run it it's the same!
