Hi there,

Does anyone know if I buy a $20 Steam Gift Card on Amazon like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Steam-Gift-Card-20-pc/dp/B00FN50BYC/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=Steam+wallet&qid=1574875290&sr=8-2&th=1

will it be redeemable on a Steam account created in the EU?

I'd like to gift a card for Christmas and it seems the stocks are now empty for the Euro/GBP cards in pretty much all over Europe so I'm thinking about to obtain one from Amazon, but don't know if these USD cards are compatible with EU region (if any) or not.

There's some info on their official Help Page about Steam Wallet Code (I'm not entirely sure if this and the Gift Card is the same thing):
Are there country restrictions on Steam Wallet codes?
Steam Wallet codes typically do not have any country restrictions and can be redeemed worldwide (Note, some cards issued in Asia may only be redeemable in this region).

Can I redeem a Steam Wallet code that is in a different currency?
Yes, however you will be prompted to convert the value of the Steam Wallet code to the currency of your Steam Wallet as shown below. The daily currency conversion rate will be applied.
from https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1122-RTSC-0478#restrictions

While other websites say quite the opposite:
"Make sure you purchase a gift card that matches your Steam account settings. An American card cannot be used on a European account, and vice versa."

Does anyone know which is true / updated / actual?

Yea, but they say that conversion for the Steam Wallet and not the Gift Card. They don't say anything about the Gift Card compatibility, only Wallet.

I'm trying to find out if that statement goes to the physical Gift Cards too.

Yea, wanted to ask them but you need to pay $5 to be able to post on Steam's official forums - they explain this is against the scammers, spammers, etc. Worst business model ever to not let newcomers ask about their games / services...
