[SOLVED] Steam write speed/Disk usage

Hey guys just a simple question here.

I have FiOS 100/100 and when downloading games I'm at a fluid 100mb/s download but my disk write speed it only 13mb/s and in task manager it's only utilizing 2-3% of my drive. My buddy with only 75mb/s download with Comcast can download and write/install the game in pretty much half the time.

The SSD is a 860qvo 2TB
Also the problem occurs on my m.2 970pro as well. Disks are not full, already checked most of the common problematic causes. What am I missing here?

Steam reports in megabytes/sec
Your ISP (i have the same) reports in megabits/sec.

Approx 8:1 ratio.

13 megabytes/sec from Steam is pretty much exactly 100 megabits from FiOS.
13 * 8 = 104.

There is nothing wrong, just a difference in units.

You may be right and I was just looking at it wrong but then why is my connection to steam servers so poor lol. I live in the same complex as my buddy 😅

Quick update: just got it to stop displaying in bits/s and instead shows what the download speed is in megabytes. It is abnormally slow for my isp connection. 12-14mb/s

You also need to remember that Steam compresses its data. For some games it is highly compressed while other games are lightly compressed. Your computer will have to decompress that data.

No it's not.
You forgot the math you just learned. 13MBx8=104mb . You pay for 100mb so you are getting exactly what you pay for.
