Why is the key code removed from the instruction book?

If it's a steam game you should just be able to log into steam and download it without entering the key again, all games you have purchased will be shown in the library section of the steam client.

E-mail VALVe or STEAM's Customer Support Group and make them aware of your issue. They should provide you with a new key.

You can buy a retail version of the game but it still requires to be installed through steam...... Even though the game should already be linked to your account.

I believe the OP had listed the key code in the message. The forum Mod's have deleted the key code.
