Question Steelseries Arctis 1 Xbox how to get mic working on pc?

Hello,

My hyperx cloud flight broke yesterday, so i need to use this xbox headset.
The headset has a TRRS connection, and i got an adapter, which splits the TRRS to a headphone TRS and a mic TRS. It is a Hyperx adapter with volume control and microphone mute. This is what i want right?
I then plugged the pink one, (mic), into MICROPHONE on my motherboard, and the other one (Headphone) into LINE-IN. My sound works, but the microphone picks up my sound being played through the computer. Example, if i watch a youtube video, the audio gets played through my microphone.
I've read more arcticles, but none would help. I tried downloading drivers and deactivating my microphone. Still no results.

Headphone goes to line-out or the green port. On second thoughts, might want to mention the make and model of your sound card(discrete or onboard). Might also want to shoot a picture of the adapter you speak of.

Headphones is in the line-out port, which is green.
My make and model of sound card? I have no idea.
