SteelSeries Arctis 5 vs HyperX Cloud Alpha

Both are the same price, visuals dont matter:

I currently have the arctis 5 and they are super comfortable and mic is alright its good but not the best (more than enough for me) but the sound quality almost feels sub par to me it just doesnt sound to good and tbh the mic sounds pretty weird

which is why im asking for which one is better, i would really prefer if someone whos used both can rate them!

the alphas seem to have gotten much more praise than the arctis 5 overall and i can barely hear footsteps with arctis 5

I do have it installed, the surround sound makes things kind of muddy but otherwise by itself sounds pretty good just not as good as i expected, i have a 30 day return period so thats why im asking if i should instead look to the alphas

and yes these are extremely comfy which is one of my worries that id lose by getting the alphas but then again everyone is also saying that the alphas are extremely comfy XD

the sound stage isnt as good as i expected and my 35$ g430s have much better awareness (albeit with the virtual surround sound on)

I have the DTS Surround Sound option turned on. I use the "Immersion" setting on the equalizer on the SS Engine.

Thanks , nice comparison. But then again that is 1 users opinion. I know the SS A5 is not perfect but they look nice are super comfy and the sound quality is excelent...for me atleast. You cant go wrong with either. Would I change to the HyperX if I already had a SS A5...NO...but that is just me. I love my SS A5's.

I love the A5 comfort, its honestly the best i've ever felt and the audio is superb but when it comes to soundstage i found the alphas had a much better depth precision even though both had excellent precision the alpha almost felt like cheating when i could hear how far away they were.

And yes agreed very subjective matter and anyone can think differently!

I had to put the alphas over a box to get them stretched out cuz of how bad it was hurting my ear and top of my head XD

In my opinion, The alphas are great. Much better bass and sound than The SS arctis 5. I have used both headsets for around 1-2 months now. The alpha was the best in my opinion. It has a detachable mic so you can go from gaming to stereo. The wire is also detachable. It is much more isolating than the SS Arctis 5.
