SteelSeries DPI overwrites Windows Sensitivity?

I've got a SteelSeries Sensei and the software for it. I have set the dpi for my mouse at 1200 and plan to slowly increase it. In games, I set the sensitivity very low and the compensation is comfortable. However, in regular Windows 10 tasks, the sensitivity is incredibly high. It seems as though changing Windows Mouse Sensitivity doesn't change anything, which tells me that the SteelSeries software is overwriting/ignoring my Windows mouse settings.

Can anyone confirm this? And perhaps offer a solution?

Reasoning for high mouse DPI:
I use perfer HighDPI-LowSens over LowDPI-HighSens because it allows for smoother turning in games. Lower DPI seems to jump pixels.

This happens sometimes with games. Setting your sensitivity down for a specific game will not change the sensitivity of your whole computer - it only changes the sensitivity for that particular game. So you're turning down sensitivity for that game, but leaving the sensitivity for regular windows tasks high (because you probably haven't touched the sensitivity there). Leaving your mouse sensitivity at 1200, but turning down sensitivity in game, will mean that in windows tasks the sensitivity will be 1200, or higher depending on how high you raised your DPI.

If that isn't the case, then perhaps you should look towards updating drivers or contacting SteelSeries support, as I have no experience with the Sensei nor any SteelSeries accessories.

I've gone into Mouse Properties>Pointer Options and turned the Motion setting down, but it doesn't seem to help at all. If nobody here knows about this, I'll see if SteelSeries knows anything about it.
