I'm looking to upgrade from my RX-470 soon. I'm not particularly trying to spend more than $300-$400 but am trying to get a significant improvement on my GPU output.

Can anyone give me some good advice at some cards to look at? I tend to run 2-3 monitors at a time, 30hz 4k, 144hz 1080p, and a 60hz 1080p, and generally use the computer strictly for gaming.

Keep in mind I don't use all 3 monitors for gaming, I stream as well so they're mostly there for the extra windows I have open while I game on my 144hz.

Would I be better off going down a SLI route? Or just sticking with a better singular card?

Also I don't believe my case will hold a 3 fan very well, I've tried putting in a R9 390x and it got way too hot and didn't fit so well in my mid tower.

Specs for my PC are in my signature, if I'd need a better PSU as well, feel free to let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Let's just get this out of the way IMHO do not go SLI if you can get a more powerful single card(unfortunately I learned from experience)that multi gpus ALWAYS have a ton of issues. And most games don't even support multi gpus so I would suggest you get a 1070 if you plan to game and stream and if you ever want to mine ETH then definitely the 1070 but if you're looking for better performance and don't plan on mining in the future go with the 1080 I have it and it can run 3 screens without any problems. Most games have negative scaling with multi gpus and I have only seen 1 or 2 games that take advantage of crossfire and sli and those were gta 5 and AC4 pretty much nearly everything else including:Assassin's creed,Far Cry,Watch_Dogs etc...
Are you planning on selling the RX 470? You should get more for it than you paid.

The two obvious cards you should be looking at are the GTX 1070 and 1080. For 144 fps at 1080p the GTX 1070 is only just enough for modern games, and if you want to run ultra settings, the GTX 1080 would be required. Now the GTX 1080 is not a cheap card, hence why I asked if you were going to sell your 470.

If I cannot find someone to buy the card, I'll likely break it in half, because it's been nothing but problems for me since the day I bought it.

Or I'll use it for my mining set up. Either way, I hate the damn card.

Hell yeah, I'll look into a 1080. I don't want to cut myself short.

If you're into mining, then you should use it for that. Otherwise someone else will pay more for it than it was worth new so that they can mine with it....the prices have gone crazy.

Honestly you could use it for mining but i'd rather sell it now with the inflated prices because it would be a while for you to make a profit out of the card when mining.Just please don't break it in half lel.

Why are RX's so good for mining if I may ask? What's the hype with them in ETH?
