Question Stereo not powering up (Pioneer X-HM15)

Hello,

My hifi system (Pioneer X-HM15), which until some days ago worked fine, couldn’t be powered up anymore from one moment to the next. I tried plugging it to a different plug but it still didn’t work.

To clarify: When I press the power button absolutely nothing happens. Not a light or sound or anything. Also nothing special happend that made it break (no power outage or anything) It just happend.

I didn’t really find much to do so far in the internet and I don’t know much about stereo systems. I figured there might be something wrong with some hardware part (power adapter?)

Second picture the white fuse, check it and the capacitor that is angled.
And thats a big expensive system tho.
Do you have warranty before you start to do anything?

If you have multimeter or Non-contact voltage tester you may test if the fuse is actually blown (you , since it does not give you any life whatsoever).

Buy yourself an gloves for electronics work (To be sure that nothing will zap you they should have rubber bit) and non contact voltage tester or multimeter (cheap ones will work) to ensure that you can test if the fuse is blown.

There are two ways you can test the fuse, with unit plugged into wall with non contact voltage tester, or not plugged into wall with multimeter which has the Beeper mode (aka short circuit mode), I would suggest you to buy multimeter and test without voltage.

The yellow indicates the contacts (Circles not the line) and Red indicates the fuse which is ceramic one.
You have to set multimeter on Beeper mode and put probes on yellow circles When unit isnt actually plugged in.

If that isnt the issue there can go many things wrong such as full bridge rectifier (That top left big black thing, not the capacitor) or worse there may be a faulty capacitor somewhere lying.
