Honest to goodness this guy may be a new temporary tech hero.

He has a video out where he talked to some industry folks finding out about the expected waits on supply issues concerning the 3080 launch. Talking about the "massive disappointment" so many people are experiencing because you didn't get a unit for the 30 seconds it was available on what is being called a paper launch....

A few minutes into the video he stops and has a little side message where he discusses that if you are mad you didn't get a card that you likely need to evaluate your thought process, probably need to evaluate the effect of marketing on your need response. If you are purchasing this simply for the new and shiny aspect that it's a sign of the rampant consumerism that is devouring the market place right now. And it wasn't like some let me hop on my soapbox rant. Very well said and good content for the rest, to boot.

Form your own opinion. I personally applaud his words.

I had not seen J2C yet....I like his channel quite a bit as well.

It's the truth though....I mean here is a release that assumes a LOT as far as the quality of your components and monitor and all these frame times are being thrown around....IMO the thing that is RIGHT about this release is the "towards correction" on the insane pricing they pulled out of their fanny last release (20xx).

There's evidence to suggest that the the process node Turing was on, 12nm, cost the same as the node Pascal was on, 16nm. And yet NVIDIA wanted to shove more transistors into a die. Even then, you can infer based on the transistor density that 12nm wasn't really any better than 16nm.
