I have a Dell Pavilion DV6 with strange acting keys. Specifically the "zxcvm,./ and space bar" become "stuck" (unworking) and then will become unstuck if I press one of the keys for a period of time (using constant slight pressure - trying to eliminate any mechanical differences. It seems like a consistent pattern that is slightly worse when logging into Windows 7. It seems like a software bug or virus but Norton nor malaware bytes did not find anything. Because of the consistency, I am pretty sure it is not hardware. Once I have typed a bunch into a field or program, the keys work fine for a bit, almost as if a certain number of irritants must go by before it will work, but then, the problem returns. I have tried it in safe mode with the same result.

Any ideas?

it most probably is hardware related in my opinion, as I have not seen any similar thing before in software. based on the pavillion name, I assume it is an HP laptop, not a dell. I have seen some keyboard problems on the DV6000 series keyboards. I think you woud be needing a replacement keyboard.
