Question Still Issues with AM5 Mobos?

Last summer I considered upgrading my rig to a 78003dx. After doing some research I decided to wait. I read a lot of issues with compatibility, slow load times, etc. with the new platform. Particularly, I read a lot of trouble with ASUS mobo's. I am curious if these issues have been fixed through bios updates, or this this just an issue with being a new chipset that wont go away until it is revised?

The board I am considering is the ROG Strix X670-e-a. I am also looking at the ASRock X670e Taichi Carrara, but it cost a good bit more and some of the features I wont use. I hate to get into cosmetics too much, but I want a white board, which obviously limits options.

Any input on the current status of these boards on the AM5 platform will be appreciated.

There were some legitimate concerns with stability and performance when AM5 first dropped, but the platform has matured and is significantly more reliable nowadays. If you're looking for top tier gaming hardware and you have the budget for it, now is a good time to make the upgrade. DDR5 memory is cheaper than ever, and gaining WiFi 6E and PCIe Gen 5 support are all good upgrades. The Taichi from AsRock is a nice motherboard, but X670E on its own is overkill for most users. Unless you need the benefits of X670E, you should save your money. But if you have your heart set on those two boards, In my personal opinion I think the reflective metal of the ROG looks better than the Taichi, and is not worth the 250 dollar price increase. But with all that said, what really matters is what those boards are worth to you. Hope this helped, take care.

The initial issues you've read about, such as compatibility and slow load times on the new AM5 platform, were indeed common with the rollout of any new chipset, especially one as significant as AM5, which introduced DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 support among other advancements. These early teething problems, particularly noted with ASUS motherboards like the ROG Strix X670-E Gaming WiFi, have largely been addressed through subsequent BIOS updates.

Personally I had good luck with Asrock very consistent in their quality , and Taichi lineup always been remarked as one of the best models to get for AMD, obviously it's a premium model but it's not as crazy expensive as some others out there.
