My computer has not gotten any recent upgrades since last month (GTX 285). I wasn't planning to do anymore upgrades to this rig after adding a pretty decent videocard (previously a 8600GT).

I need some advice on what I should upgrade next. Keeping in mind that I plan on going x58 pretty soon.

Is it fine as it is?

it looks fine to me. if you plan a big upgrade for the CPU, Ram and MB later the only thing i would thing about touching is the hardrives.

get yourself another 500gb drive and raid 0 them together. if you have spare cash why not get 3 have have a 4 disk raid 0 array with 2tb of space? oyur read/transfer speeds will shoot up and you will notice a real difference in performance. 500gb drives are cheap as chips now so it should not be a problem.

This has got to be a sales man's dream question.
I don't have any idea why, how, what or what for, why I need it, what it would do with it once I got it, do they even make it?, but please tell me quick, "what I can spend more money on"....doh!

Your PSU has 35A and the minimum recommendation for the GTX 285 (from BFG) is 42A. You might as well buy a new PSU now before something blows up, and reuse it in your next PC. Something like Corsair 750TX would be much safer there.

eVGA doesn't state PSU requirements for their GTX 285. XFX only says "at least 650W". Either way, you're playing with fire.

One more thing: newer hard drives like the WD 640GB Caviar Black are way faster than the drives you have now. If you've got $80 available get one.
