Backstory:
My computer has been working fine since I built it using all the parts below, about 6 months ago. When I rebooted my system the other day, I no longer had a visual display.
This may or may not be related... but around the same time, my email was hacked, and so was my bank account. I've since reset all my passwords and recovered my funds from my bank. Is it possible a virus or something is causing my network adapter to "hide", which also prevents me from connecting online to check for updates?
The Problems:
1.) Booting with my newer video card in place results in no display (no post, no windows loading screen) but I can still hear the computer booting up. Cannot get into BIOs, Safe Mode, etc.
2.) When I boot using an old video card, my display comes back, but after booting to windows, it tells me there is no network adapter detected and I have no internet connection. The whole 'Network' category is also not shown in Device Manager at all.
How I've attempted to fix the problem:
- reset CMOS on motherboard by removing battery and power supply for hours before rebooting
- used a USB stick to resinstall all drivers from the website of mobo manufacturer and video card
- reinstalled a brand new copy of Windows 7
- installed older versions of the RealTek LAN driver
- verified that the Network settings in the BIOS are enabled
No luck. Still no display (with newer card) or Network Adapter.
My Specs:
- Windows 7
- Motherboard 1 x GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 6 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD (no on-board video)
- Power Supply 1 x COUGAR DX600 600W ATX SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Haswell ready
- RAM 2 x CORSAIR Vengeance 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9B
- Processor 1 x AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W FD8350FRHKBOX
- Video Card SAPPHIRE DUAL-X 100365L Radeon R9 270 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card With BOOST & OC
To summarize, my new video card does not output a display and windows cannot detect a Network Adapter. I'm going on Day 3 now of not being able to fully use my system. I've done a ton of research online and nothing has helped.
Any help is appreciated!
