Which one of these would you choose to go on a EVGA 680i motherboard with an Intel E6600 cpu and why? A) OCZ-> OCZ2FX11502GK 1150mhz, OR B) Corsair TWIN2X2048-9136C5D 1142mhz memory sticks.

Why do you want ram with such high clocks? DDR2-1000 will get you all the way up to 4.5ghz running at 1:1.

My personal choice is obvious so I'll spare you that. Both are very good memory so you could look at it and consider what is best for you such as personal brand loyalty, best price, best customer service, features, etc.

Thanks for considering Corsair.

hahaha when you compare customer service between corsair and ocz corsair wins hands down! LOL

However I would really consider 8888s, on the Asus Striker Extreme they run on 4.4.4.12 at T1 around 980Mhz

Sure you can push them to 1111 Mhz but on T2 at 3.3.3.10, but a T1 comand rate creates a very responsive ram module and increases bandwidth.

You will be one of only a handful of people with a conroe + T1 becuase you can take advantage of the 680i's more advanced memory controllers.

All others on 975x and 965x will be stuck on T2...

The 8888's are over $600. Thats way too much for ram. I will go up to $450 tops. I think i will just get the Corsair TWIN2X2048-9136C5D someday when they are back in stock. Newegg says they will have them on 1/22/07. Usually the day they are back in stock this is what happens to me. I work during the day and they are in stock, but when i get home from work and i'm ready to order them, they are out of stock. LOL

I went ahead and ordered the Corsair TWIN2X2048-9136C5D 1142mhz at Zipzoomfly and will get them in a couple days. I think i made the right choice and i'm sure it will work well with my EVGA 680i mobo.
