[SOLVED] Still with a i5 6600k: time to upgrade?

Hello everyone.

I have a 6600K CPU @ 4.4 Ghz that works very well, a Z170 motherboard and a GTX 1080 Ti.

I use the PC mainly for 1080p/2K/4K gaming or VR with Oculus Rift.

I ask you if it makes sense to upgrade CPU (e.g. an i7 7700K) or CPU and Mobo.
I have no preferences between AMD or Intel.

Those are the display resolutions I use to play PC games ( 19201080 - 25601600 - 3840*2160).
VR: virtual reality.

@Obakasama The PC works well. I was wondering if it makes sense to upgrade the CPU: is there any bottleneck with my GTX 1080 TI?

The 7700k won´t get you a noticable boost for gaming

replacing only mobo and CPU: the 1080TI would bottleneck a bit if you would get a high performance kit.

If replacing the base (eventually the RAM as well) and the GPU, then you would feel a real boost

depends all on your budget. Wouldn´t upgrade for now

It is a good card, the question comes down to 'what's wrong' and if performance is good enough, so nothing is 'wrong' then you need a much better card and CPU to see a difference.
