Stock cooler or Hyper 212 Evo?

I am not going to be overclocking at all but I will be playing some quite CPU intensive games

Would the stock cooler that comes with the i5 4690k be sufficient? Or would I need to buy a beefier cooler such as the Hyper 212 Evo

If you are already going to be installing a new CPU I would recommend getting the 212 EVO to go along with it. It is a fantastic air cooler and is one of the best bang-for-your-buck CPU coolers on the market right now.

That said, you would probably be fine using the stock cooler for running minecraft if you can't afford the extra $30.

It was specifically designed to do exactly what you want to do. So yes it would be fine.

Go for it, the 212 EVO will keep your CPU cool right up through a 4.6/7 OC if you have a decent CPU 😉
