[SOLVED] Stock cpu cooler dell opti 3470

Hi guys. I have a optiplex 3470 which has a i5 8400 installed. I am about to buy a new micro atx Motherboard Will the stock cpu cooler fit on the new board or is it dell only ? Thanks

Dell Optiplex 7010 DT motherboard uses proprietary fan headers. You will not be able to reuse fans on new motherboard (including cpu fan).

TLDR - CPU cooler will fit. Fan connector will not fit.

Ohh .. got mixed up in model names.

So your pc is
DELL Vostro 3470 or DELL Inspiron 3470. Right?
Those have normal 4pin fan headers.

Because there is no Optiplex 3470.

Ok then.
It uses standard fan headers and you'll be able to reuse CPU cooler on another motherboard.

But there's another problem. PSU connector is not standard. You'll need adapter for that or get a standard psu.
