I want to upgrade to coffee lake. I'm sorry on cash. And temperature in my area don't go beyond 30 degree Celsius. Can I use an old cl stock CPU cooler for cooling requirements.

My planned config
HD3P z370 (bought it)
8600k
Cooler master 450 watt (80+white)
This piece of s*** won't come with stock. So is this viable.

Solution
Lga1151-v2 has the same cooler pin setting dimensions as older lga1151, so yes any cooler that'll fit the older boards will fit the 300 series, even considering the socket itself is different.

So physically it'll work, how well will depend exactly on that 'old cl stock cooler', if it's one for a pentium/i3 you'll cook that CoffeeLake. If it's one for an i7, you'll get by as long as you don't push any OC or push the cpu hard.

Yeah covered that as well crucial
ddr4 8gb ram.
I'm on a strict budget. Just asking if it is possible.
