Stock CPU vs 3rd Party Cooler????

Okay, before I set my processor, should I get a 3rd party cooler versus the stock cooler? I don't plan to OC, but I just may take the leap! I plan to use Arctic 5, can I also use Arctic 5 with the stock processor? What 3rd party coolers would you recommend?

A couple of details like the CPU, the airflow in your case, how quiet you require your system to be, do you care about your warranty, etc. would be nice.

I haven't built the system, but I believe the airlow will be good:

Neo4 480w (120mm fan)

I'd like to keep noise to a minimum, but not a priority! I'm not worried about warranty, I just want to set the heatsink one time and be done! I'd rather purchase a 3rd party cooler and seat it one time if that's recommended. I'm open to opinions.....?

Well, unless you plan on doing some serious OCing, I'd say stick with stock. The only reasons that I can think of for going for a 3rd party HSF are for more headroom when OCing, or for less noise.

But hey, if you think you might want to OC in the future, and replacing the HSF seems like too much of a hassle, then go for it. You only have your money and your warranty to lose.

A64 stock fans are good. They keep the chip cool, and are quiet. They are generally OK to about a 15% OC.

Yes, I have read your post. My first thought was that you were trying to kill your scotty so you could get an A64.
You are way out of my league with that OC. I'm f-ing impressed with what you have been able to accomplish.
The only thing I would say, is dont forget about the PWM cct. Those little mosfets give out a lot of heat, when you make them generate that kind of frequency.
Yoiu have a big job ahead of you.
