Hey you guys, so I've been having some problems with my new Ryzen build. Everything is running at stock at the moment, no overclocking has been attempted. All drivers are up to date, BIOS is up to date and I've cleared the CMOS. Windows is up to date and on a fresh install as well.

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 (@3.2 GHz)
MOBO: ASRock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming K4
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz* 16GB (2x8GB) (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15)
*(currently running at 2133MHz)
GPU: ASUS GTX 1060 3GB
PSU: EVGA 600B 80+ Bronze

I've tried running both AIDA64 and Prime95, both coming back with hardware failures detected/fatal errors. In AIDA64's case, I narrowed it down to when I would run the Memory Stress Test it would fail within 11 seconds, while every other test would work fine.

I ran memtest86+ but for some reason I couldn't get past the first pass and it would get stuck at pass 100% with no errors.

All of this is causing some of my games, specifically Fallout 4, Minecraft, and Borderlands 2 to crash. For some reason however, Playerunknown's Battlegrounds works fine.

I'm no expert, but it seems like the RAM might be the culprit. The RAM isn't listed on my motherboards QVL, but I've read that other's have had it working fine at 2933MHz.

Any advice to get my computer running smoothly would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
sounds like faulty dimms to me. RMA them and see if you can get a set on the QVL.

You may get your current dimms to work okay, but compatibility is not guaranteed if they are not on the QVL. You will prob have to bump the voltage to 1.35 and set timings manually.

But, if memtest didn't run right, to me the dimms are faulty, which makes setting timings etc manually moot.

Okay I returned the RAM to Amazon and instead ordered a slightly slower 2666MHz kit but this one is listed on the motherboards QVL, so we'll see what happens!

good luck :)

Turns out that was the problem, popped the RAM in, did a few tweaks and was able to run at 2666 no problem :)

Ding Ding :) Result. Glad it worked out okay man.
