Stop Error 0x0000009f

Hello,


I recently had to wipe the HDD of my laptop. After a clean install of Vista Ultimate 32 bit, whenever I try putting my laptop to sleep my machine locks up - the screen goes black. After booting I get the message about 0x0000009f. I've googled it and found solutions that lead me to think my machine installed windows XP drivers for Vista. Is there any way to find out, like a driver verifier?

This is just one of MANY issues i've had with the laptop since doing a fresh OS install.


Right now i'm doing a system file checker.


Other issues i'm having are:

Keyboard shortcuts ( alt+tab, ctrl+alt+delete, etc ) not working.
Extremely slow response time on opening system tray windows.
Extremely slow flash rendering. ( such as youtube )

sfc /scannow reported that file integrity was intact. So it's not that. I'm leaning towards improper drivers, any help is appreciate.

Bug Check 0x9F: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

Usually indicates a driver problem.

When you get the BSOD, does it point to a particular driver/file?

Ok, so the Event Viewer isn't given the DLL that crapped out...if it happens again and you get another BSOD, make note if any particular file/DLL is listed. Hopefully, it will point to a specific device driver and not a windows component...

Also, to clarify, this happens entering sleep mode, or exiting?

It happens every time I enter sleep mode, so i've been unable to exit it - so to speak.
