Stops working when I try to go into BIOS (First Startup)

It will boot past the Asus logo but if I try to go into BIOS nothing shows up on screen and the boot_device_LED turns red.

Is it the HDD?

Try with a single stick of DRAM in slot 1, closest to the CPU, might be the DRAM (wouldn't get 1600 sticks that require 1.65 voltage) or could be a number of other things
