Question Storage Device Detection

ijust now got around to building up a pc parts have been sitting around since january ,,, problem is I cant get the western digital black sn750 drive to detect in the slot that according to the manual disabled pci E x16 slot 1 i know its kind of detecting it ,, it shows up on a forced boot sequence list but has no capacity info like the samsung sata drive shows. I'm wondering if there's just some silly simple step im overlooking since this is my first experience with this.
