Hello PC Guru's.

So, i have a problem with my storage hard drive, that quite frankly has me worried. I have a 128GB SSD for my OS, and a Caviar Black 1Tb for storage (Steam, Origin, Pics, Vids, Tunes, you know the deal) and it has run perfectly for the last 5/6 years, using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Avast Anti-Viurs and CC-Cleaner as my maintenance programs. There have been no problems with it whatsoever and i havent been doing anything silly with it. The only thing that was a little strange was that i had set it to create both C and G drive back ups on the G drive, but would always come up with an error to check them.

Today, i booted my PC, all ran normally, everything appeared to have loaded fine, then i went to open Steam, and an error came up that said that the drive Steam was on was unwritable, and Steam needed to restart and repair. Went and checked on the drive and it had loaded, could see all the files and folders on it, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. So i restarted my PC, and windows (10) started an update, as it usually does. Let that go through, but then once it restarted, it got to "Scanning and Repairing Drive :/G", which i had never seen before. Thought alright, needed to do its thing, so i did. 2 hour movie later i come back and it was still on 0%. Restarted, pressed key to bypass it, and now while there is a drive icon in 'This PC', and it does have its name :)/G), it does not show its storage space bar like usual, i cannot open it, instead causing the PC to freeze for a few seconds then black out to the desktop and reset the taskbar (reloads the set icons one by one), i cant right click on it, as it does the same /freeze reset thing, and no drive management option will find it. The PC recognizes its theres, but it will not load it.

Have opened the PC up and checked all cables, and moved them around in case a pin mightve died, and changed the SATA cable over, but its still the same old thing. Since this drive is also a secondary only for storage, and never used for an older OS, i didnt consider partitioning or formatting it, and all i can come up with, is to just let it attempt to scan and repair, overnight.

This is something ive never run into, and never heard of before, so any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
