Storage?!?!?! HELP!!

I am planning on putting a small SSD in my new computer. I will also be putting a much larger HDD as a secondary. The Primary (SSD) will be used for Win7, and some other programs. I would like all of my other stuff (Steam, Photoshop, ect.) on my much larger HDD. How would i go about saving all the items on the secondary? Should i make a folder in D: an put it on the desktop? Will these save correctly? PLEASE HELP, URGENT!!

You can change the default program and document folders to point to the HDD.
