Hey!

After doing a clean install to windows 10 and erasing everything, I found out that my 1TB HD is now only 700GB.
I have no idea what went wrong and would like to find this 300GB back.
I am using Asus laptop.

Thank you for your help!

WinDirStat can help visualize where your space is.

You almost certainly have a Windows.old folder in there.

And a "1TB" drive actually only reports as 931GB.

right click This PC on desktop
select manage
in left hand column of next window is heading called storage, under it is Disk Management, click it
in middle column will be a representation of Hdd in PC, can you show us a screen shot?

Win 10 creates 4 partitions when it installs but the hidden ones don't add up the difference.
Partition 1 - Recovery - 450MB
Partition 2 - System - The EFI System partition that contains the NTLDR, HAL, Boot.txt, and other files that are needed to boot the system, such as drivers. - 100mb
Partition 3 - MSR - The Microsoft Reserved (MSR) partition that reserves space on each disk drive for subsequent use by operating system software. - 16mb
Partition 4 - Primary - Where Windows is to be installed to. 700gb

So the three hidden should only take up just under 600mb

You won't get 1tb as formatting removes about 100GB but even still.
