So a little about my goal:
Two PowerEdge R310s
Windows 2008 R2 Standard
One Adaptec 6805E in each
RAID1+0 configuration for each
8x10k Raptor SATA per RAID1+0 (16 drives total)
I need both of these servers to mirror one another overnight. I need to put the drives in an external storage rack. I found a cheap 4U by Norcotek that doesnt include the ATX PSUs. I'd consider failover clustering but I don't want to use AD nor do I want to buy Enterprise licenses for Windows 2008 R2.
Since the RAID cards have no external ports, I'm going to use these: https://www.pc-pitstop.com/sas_cables_adapters/8887-2M.asp
Does anyone have any suggestions/advice/alternatives for this set up?
