storidge loss after using defraggler

so i have 247 gb worth of files writen on 500 gb hard drive. after running difraggler it shows 465 gb used space. i cant be sure what was before but i think it was more than 100 gb. i restarted pc and fragmentation is 45% (more than it was before defrag) anyone experienced this? any fixes? no data is really important for me that is on this hdd but id rather not reformat it

try running the windows defragmenter.run anylize first to see what the actual level of fragmentation is.ive had defraggler do this before.the windows defragger is as good as any out there.

i just did and it says 0% fragmentation while defraggler says 45% :O
i ran seatools to check the hdd but all tests i tied passed.

i would trust the windows defragger on this one.if you were indeed 45% fragmented your computer would slow to a virtual crawl.run the windows tool just in case.

i didnt need that hdd so i experimented with it. with large file delate => defrag => delate => defrag ... i was able to get 70 gb actual used storidge while windows saw only 6gb free out of 500. pretty interesting. i wasnt able to locate where the storidge went. i then cleaned it using boot and nuke. then i tried installing a few programs. delated 2 of them and used defraggler a few times. it might sound strange but from 12% fragmentation after first defrag there was 58% after last. used storidge didnt cahnge a lot this time though only about 50 gb increase. i then cleaned the hdd and stopped using it.
i havent tested this on any other hdd it but it definately is strange behavior. no noticible performence decrease even with almost (6gb free) "full" storidge
