What is the safest way to store RAM, CPU, and GPU while I wait for a new motherboard to be shipped to me? Are anti-static bags a must have or is there something easier that can be used?
Nothing special needed unless you are shipping or carrying them around. I just wrap them in paper, put in a she box and store where cats and kids (or mother in law) can't get to them.
It's also a good idea to keep original packaging for all parts. That is safest way.

Hi there,
just be sure that when you handle them that you don't wear clothes that make you statically charged !
eg.: Insulated shoes can be bad when combining it with synthetic sweater and wool underwear.
Be sure you touch ground before picking up your components and plugging them into the PC !
Also unplug your PC from the grid ! In case it has a bad ground and some loose cables, or a lost screw !

How does this work for a long term solution? I still keep older parts so I can use them for temporary replacements and diagnosis.
