Storing CPUs not on motherboard

my motherboard just failed so I am sending it back. where should I put my CPU in the mean time? I don't have the original box

If you have no antistatic packaging materials, use aluminum foil.

clean it and then store it in an antistatic bag or in somewhere there isn't going to be a lot of dust in. Aluminium foil could discharge a capacitor and short circuit and break something.
