Question storing mp4's on x-fat sd's

ive been reading about the instability of using ex-fat formatted micro sd drives

is ex-fat good for just storing my mp4 movies and just keeping them in my tablet?

also, if i switch out micro sd's(i have a ton of movies), is there a procedure to switch them out safely?

The particular file format...exFAT, FAT32, NTFS, whatever...is of little consequence.

What is the real issue is the microSD, and having only one copy of these files

The only purpose for storing files you'd like to keep on SD cards is for short-term convenience. In that way, it's a lot like storing your banking information on a cocktail napkin.

well, it IS for convenience. the larger the capacity of the micro sd, the more movies i can store so i don't have to switch out the card for additional movies

since the exfat has a larger capacity for my movies but ive read about the problems,,,that is why i'm here asking the question. if some movies are corrupted so be it. i have them fully stored 3x over elsewhere

i just want the portability of carrying my movies on my tablet with me when i travel

That these are at least backed up is a relief.

However, the issue of dependability of these will be far, far more due to the quality of the individual SD cards, not the file system.
