Storm Trooper case and H100i

Just picked up my Storm Trooper case yesterday and installing all my components today.I also picked up a Corsair H100i for water cooling.The guy

at tiger direct told me to install the rad on top, inside the case and blowing cool air down into the case and the big 140 fan at the back will exhaust

the hot air out.Is this the best setup for the storm trooper case.I thought I would ask here since fellow troopers know what they have tried and

what is the best setup for cooling.Oh ya,almost forgot.Is push pull a good thing to do with a h100i.I picked up 2 extra noctua 120 fans in case I

needed them for a push-pull config.Please let me know what you suggest.Thanks.......

I have the same case and am about to have the thermaltake water 2.0 extreme (about the equivalent as the h100).
You would in fact install the rad on the top exhaust, but with mine I dont think that i can put a push/pull on it due to the radiator sticking out too far from the top and hitting my water block.
Unless you customize your case to house the rad on the outside, removing the top fan and installing the rad there is the only place for this case.

but also, remember that hot air rises. So the fans blowing down is probably your best bet. Seems like that would cool the case more, but it just wouldnt make sense since the back of the rad will be up at the top exhaust anyways.

You want the fans to be blowing air UP through the rad and out of the case. As Flakkattack mentioned, hot air "rises". Have your front fans blowing in as well as side case fans (if you have them) and have the top/back fans as exhaust. Thats how I run mine.

I just finished installing the H100i in a push/pull config at the top of the case. One fan pull will probably work without modifications. But I was dead set on getting it running push/pull so I modified the case a bit. Basically what gets in the way is one of the mounts for the handle. I removed the bracket that the handle was attached to in order make room for one of the fans. It is riveted so I just drilled out the rivets. Once the bracket is out you have just enough space to fit a fan into position. When the top is on the handle rests on one of the fans. Obviously this isn't ideal but as long as you are aware that the handle has been modified you can just avoid using it to move the computer around. I suppose you could make a new bracket also and attach it using the holes from the rivets and retain the safe use of the handle. Just having the top on keeps the handle in place anyway.
